PBX Phone Systems Get Things Done
July 2, 2009
For the past 5 months, I have been trying to perk up my businesses. Most of my businesses correlate with my other businesses, like my frozen food storage facility is being stocked by my own farm and both sites are being advertised by my main office. I looked for ways to improve the speed and efficiency of all my businessesÂ’ communication system. Especially at times when I am away from one of my offices and urgent matters come up, it is just not good enough to be informed by your secretary about the matter. I tried compensating by being in one of the offices as much as I can. This solution is very ineffective since I would still need to travel. Most of the time, I would leave certain matters unattended every day. I would come home very late and could barely spend time with my family.
Another option that I brushed off quite easily was hiring an assistant to do some of my work; this option did not fit my style. I did not want to give the most important decisions in my company to the hands of someone else besides myself. I needed an option that puts me in many places at the same time.
As I was spending my day in the office of my small commercial ad company, I received a call that gave me the idea of having pbx phone systems. A secretary called us and patched me to an administrator. They wanted to set a deal about an advertisement but as the call became longer, it was clear that not much of the details were known to the person I was talking to. He needed the perspective of the owner of the company and so he called his secretary to connect a line to the owner who was on the road for an event in Mexico. At this very moment, I was thinking that I was handling a big client. A phone call like this would cost a lot and feeling that they are not worried about this matter gave me the conclusion I mentioned a little while ago.
As our conversation ended, I checked the status of the company of the people that I have spoken with and it seems to me like they were spending too much on that call. I tasked one of my most trusted employees to check what they were using. She reported back to me that they were using Private Branch Exchange or pbx phone systems.
Having this phone system is like having your own small scale telecommunication company. You can have your phones registered to the system to have faster, cheaper, and safer conversations. Another capacity of pbx phone systems is that they allow you to manage your calls more easily. You can have the accounting of your outbound calls as quickly as the calls were made. These systems are also very easy to use for someone who is well-versed in Windows.
Now, my work has become lighter and more things get done every day – all thanks to PBX phone systems!
